Modern urban life is complex, often confusing, and very stressful. Full of exciting challenges when it's going well, it can also be overwhelming. I know - I have navigated many of life's milestones, and experienced my share of success and failure. I also know the value of having an experienced professional to consult with about major decisions and 'bumps in the road'. To live calmly and confidently you need clarity, emotional support, and up-to-date information.

With more than 25 years of experience in business, management, education, consulting, and psychology, I bring a broad base of knowledge and life skills to my work with clients. I've seen lots of change, but it's wonderful how it all comes together to broaden my perspective.

My clients come from varied walks of life - business, health care, education, technology, sports, security and police work, academia, public service, and the arts. They keep me on my toes and 'in touch' - the work I do today is more exciting and fulfilling than ever. A top priority (and source of pride) is helping all my clients to build lasting confidence, emotional calmness, and self-reliance that they can carry through life after our work together.

Academically, my credentials include a Masters Degree (M.A.) in Counselling Pychology (City University, Vancouver, BC). I also hold a Master of Science Degree (M.Sc.) from the University of Regina, and a Bachelor of Science Degree (B.Sc.) from the University of Manitoba.

Professionally, I am a registered clinical counsellor (RCC) with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling Association, and am a member of the Canadian Society of Clinical Hypnosis (BC Division). Professional ethics are very important in my work with clients and I adhere to the ethical guidelines of these associations.

My wife and I have been married for 30+ wonderful years, and enjoy life in the scenic riverside community of Riverport, in south-east Richmond, British Columbia.

My philosophy … my counselling approach is holistic and collaborative. I employ strategies that consider all aspects of my clients' hopes and dreams (vocational, emotional, financial, and relationships). I believe that everyone has within them a natural capacity for self-understanding, self-healing, and change. My role is to help clients clarify and deepen their self-knowledge … then, as they learn new awareness and skills, I'm with them as a mentor and coach, information source and sounding board … supporting them through the process of stepping into a life of confidence and fulfilment.

My approach is practical and balanced and directed at achieving genuine results in the shortest time possible.
